Abstract

The increased penetration of renewable sources into the electric grid has opened new horizons for researchers. In this context, maintenance of system stability is the most important objective which needs an immediate consideration. The reason for such keen interest is that the renewable energy sources do not behave as the conventional power plants. Earlier research suggest that the VSM concept should be implemented for renewable energy sources to behave as conventional. In simple words this paper explains the modeling of synchronous generator, uses the modelling equations to implement a frequency and voltage droop control for an inverter which would be called as synchronverter or virtual synchronous machine.
