Abstract
Bridges provide a means of extending the local area network (LAN) environment in physical extent, number of stations, performance, and reliability. The design and software implementation of a two-port transparent Ethernet bridge for the disk operating system (DOS) platform are presented. It uses standard personal computer (PC) hardware and network interfaces. It conforms to the packet driver interface specification and performs an additional function of packet filtering and statistics collection.
