Abstract
The resonances at Ep=3774 and 3794 keV in Co57 are identified as fragments of the d5/2 isobaric analog resonance from Fe56(p,) and Fe56(p,p) reactions. Gamma-decay schemes and angular distributions have been studied. From angular distributions and symmetry potential considerations, the level at 4675 keV in Co57 is considered to be the antianalog state. The M1 transition strength of the analog-antianalog state has been measured and is compared with theoretical predictions. Additional information on the M1 strength systematics in the isovectorial (5/2)+(5/2)+ transitions in the f-p shell nuclei is provided.
