Abstract

Cuckoo search (CS) is an effective algorithm based on swarm-Intelligence. CS was developed to imitate the cuckoo breeding behavior. CS has drawn a lot of attention because of its predictive state of having sufficient ability to solve various real-world optimization problems. Due to its efficiency for various real-world engineering applications, CS has gained much supremacy. CS is inspired by a bird called cuckoo that cannot build a nest of its own. And the cuckoo bird lays its egg in other birds' nests. This article examines the research outcomes in the key architectural perspective and extended variations of CS in great depth. This paper gives a quick overview of the CS algorithm, its several variants, and its potential applications.
