Abstract
High level languages, such as FORTRAN, BASIC and PL/M have eased the task of programming. However, they still require an abstract association, and sometimes complicated interface design, between the microcomputer and real-time peripherals. A preferable approach is a high level language which allows the microcomputer to be viewed as an assembly of building blocks for which a design engineer has strong familiarity; e.g. gates, flip flops, integrators, analogue filters, etc. That is, to use a crosscompiler which accepts inputs tantamount to a schematic and generates object code which will emulate the terminal characteristics of the schematic. In addition, the interfacing circuit should be highly invariant of the designed system. Such a crosscompiler is the subject of this article.
