Abstract

Corrosion has constantly been a major hindrance in crude oil refinery units. It has become more abundant and complicated in the past few decades because of the increasing costs of materials and labor. This chapter discusses the failures encountered by corrosive moieties in crude oil refining processes and how these result in the deterioration of tools. It will also discuss protective measures for reducing corrosion influences, as well as corrosion prevention and examining techniques. Corrosion management plays a very important function in resolving these issues.
