Abstract
The corrosion behaviours of galvanized steel, grey cast iron, austenitic stainless steel, and aluminium alloy in cassava juice were investigated by measurement of weight loss at 20 degreesC and 70 degreesC. The aluminium alloy and the stainless steel were found to be resistant to corrosion in cassava juice. The galvanized steel offered resistance, but the dissolution of the zinc coating was apparent initially. The grey cast iron corroded badly in the juice, showing general corrosion resulting from the anodic dissolution of the test specimen by interfacial reaction. (A)
