Abstract

The corrosion performance of carbon reinforced plain-weave laminates in 3.5% NaCl solution was evaluated by different corrosion measurement techniques to determine the suitability for applications in a corrosive environment. Based on the experimental studies it was observed that this composite offers a high resistance to corrosion in 3.5% NaCl solution both in static and in flow velocity up to 1.8 m/s.
