Abstract

An ionic cloud simulation technique is suggested as a means of refining corona pulse calculations based on assumptions. These ionic clouds are simulated by a number of ring charges and their images with respect to ground are considered. A number of equations greater than the number of ring charges are formulated-based upon appropriate boundary conditions-and solved simultaneously using the least square approximation technique. Also, the statistical variations of ionization and attachment coefficients are considered in the calculations. This renders a more realistic picture of discharge.
