Abstract

Natural rubber (NR) was converted to liquid hydrocarbon fuel in the presence of methyl alcohol (CH3OH) using autoclave reactor. Different process parameters were assessed for their effect on product quantity and quality. At optimum condition, the maximum amount of oil obtained was ~80wt%. GCMS analysis indicated the presence of aromatics, alkyls, aldehydes, and ketones in oil.
