Abstract

In this paper, complex-valued multi-dimensional (m-D) FIR digital filters using the Vector Space Projection Method (VSPM) is proposed for designing seismic migration digital filters. In general, designing FIR digital filters using the VSPM is able to produce feasible solutions satisfying all desired filter constraints by the use of only two Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) computations. Furthermore, the design algorithm can be directly extended from one-dimensional (1-D) to m-D filters, an advantage not present in many other filter design techniques. The idea of designing complex-valued FIR filters using VSPM is motivated by the fact that seismic migration filters are complex-valued.
