Abstract
A comparative study was conducted to evaluate some of the velocity-bias correction techniques and to measure turbulence parameters in the near field of a turbulent free jet. The general objectives of this investigation were to develop reliable techniques for obtaining non-intrusive measurements of the mean flow velocity components and turbulence, and to construct a complete set of data in the developing region of a turbulent free jet. For the present investigation, the results indicate that discrepancies between the different methods of analyzing data were insignificant.
