Abstract

In the project discussed in this paper the authors evaluated comparative burning characteristics of PS, crystalline PS, and two types of crosslinked PS (divinyl benzene and vinyltriethoxysilane). Both types of crosslinked PS were found to mitigate burning rate and flame drip while burning. The silicone-modified PS lends itself to postfabricated crosslinking.
