N2 - This paper represents a careful study of the security aspects of Java 2 Micro-Edition (J2ME) with Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) and Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP). This Java platform is intended for resource-constrained devices, with the purpose of expanding the range of applications available for these devices, by enabling them to run Java programs. Using a Common Criteria approach, our objective is to propose a set of security requirements that should be followed by any implementation of the platform.
