Collective coordinate analysis of soliton scattering by an asymmetric potential

Abstract

The scattering of solitons by an asymmetric potential was investigated using a collective coordinate approach and numerical simulation. The centre of mass and width of the soliton were analyzed. A detailed comparison of theoretical predictions and results of numerical simulations of a nonlinear Schrodinger equation is presented. Unidirectional flow of soliton was also investigated numerically.
