Abstract
The cloud computing plays a pivotal role in information processing of Smart Grid (SG) by offering fast and dynamic processing capabilities. The Cloud Computing (CC) features and contribution to SG are elaborated in detail in this paper. Further, this paper emphasizes on storage capabilities and information management of CC. The prominent functions of Cloud Data Center (CDC), such as massive computational power, parallel processing, and power management are critically analyzed in this paper. The penetration of Renewable Energy Resources (RERs) into SG has enhanced power generation capacity. The RERs integrations pose certain limitation and constraints. Moreover, the benefits of smart integration of RERs into SG are discussed in this paper.
