Abstract

The classical and predictive controllers for interior permanent-magnet synchronous machines (IPMSM) railway traction drives were covered in this chapter. Introduction to traction drive systems, mathematical modeling of ipmsm in three phases and dq, predictive control, direct torque control, field-oriented controllers are described in the sections.
