Abstract
We have demonstrated a method for dispersion monitoring of differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) signals by measuring the power of its wide bandwidth radio frequency (RF) spectral components. In particular, the RF spectrum is found to increase with the increase of chromatic dispersion. The proposed method is investigated in detail both analytically and experimentally and results are in close agreement with each other.
