Abstract
The cross sectional geometry of a cavity backed annular slot array is given. The annular slots array is formed by cutting concentric circular slots on the upper conducting plate, which is separated from the lower plate by a dielectric substrate of permittivity epsilon //1. The cavity is in the form of a finite radial waveguide and is excited by two coaxial lines, which are 180 degrees out of phase. The investigation showed that, regardless of the numer of slots in the array, the gain of the array increases initially, as epsilon //1 increases from its starting value of epsilon //0. The computed results are shown.
