Abstract

The vapor phase oxidation of propylene and isobutylene over mixed caalyst - f molybdenum oxide and chromium oxide have been investigaed in relation to the activity and the structure of catalysts. The reaction was carried out in the temperature range of 380 to 480 C, with 17% propylene and 15% isobutylene in air. The structural studies suggest existence of chemical species formed from the interaction between molybdenum oxide and chromium oxide. There was Mo- O octahedral structure in the effective catalysts for partial oxidation.
