Abstract
The event on 10th Saudi Japanese Symposium held at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, from 11/19-20/2000, emphasized on the latest developments and advances in refining and petrochemical catalysts and processes such as hydroprocessing, residue upgrading, gasoline and diesel specifications, FCC, reforming, and light alkanes utilization for petrochemicals. The symposium covers the hydrocracking developments at Akzo Nobel with two hydrocracking catalysts, such as zeolitic KC-2710, being naphtha and jet fuel selective, the middle distillate selective, amorphous KF-1015MD, and the middle distillate selective, zeolitic KF-2301; technology development of hydrogen transfer cracking of residue; gasoline quality attainment with dual catalyst system and integrated reactive distillation; and the development of a highly active steam reforming catalysts for hydrogen and synthesis gas production.
