Abstract

More than 85 scientists, engineers, catalyst experts and researchers from Saudi Arabia, Japan, Kuwait, USA and the Netherlands participated in the two-day symposium on refining and petrochemical catalysts held at KFUPM on November 11-12, 2001. This annual symposium is jointly organized by KFUPM, Japan Petroleum Institute (JPI), and Japan Cooperation Center, Petroleum (JCCP). The emphasis of this event is on latest developments and advances in refining and petrochemical catalysts and processes such as isomerization of paraffins, hydroprocessing, fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), upgrade of cycle oil to diesel, processing of spent catalysts, and petrochemical applications. The following is a brief report on the papers presented at the symposium.
