Abstract
In recent months, there has been a disturbing incidence of technical papers by well-known researchers, comparing concretes with and without supplementary cementitious materials used as direct replacements for portland cement (by mass or by volume) without any concern for the influence on the compressive strength of the resultant concrete. Not only have the authors of this paper done sone, but they have overdosed the chloride content of the concrete as well. The objectives of the authors, in examining specimens under normal conditions is praiseworthy; however, the value of the results must be questioned.
