Abstract

The throughput behavior of slotted ALOHA under Nakagami fading with two different environments was investigated. The effects of shadowing and the user spatial distribution are obtained. With generalized fading conditions, a more detailed insight into the problem of the throughput determination can be obtained. A general expression of the throughput of slotted ALOHA under Nakagami fading conditions with spatially distributed users is presented. The simulation results show that the shadowing effects are substantial under different fading conditions.
