Abstract

Highlights A mechanical rectification based direct-current triboelectric nanogenerator is developed. The system can generate a unidirectional output regardless of direction of rotation. A self-adaptive mechanical design is implemented. Applications for harvesting abundant ambient reciprocating motion are introduced.
