Abstract
Ensuring proper structural column alignment is a critical task in the construction of reinforced concrete (RC) buildings. This step is still predominantly performed manually using a plumb bob, a method that is inefficient and prone to human error. Thus, a solution to this manual process utilizing technological advancement is important. While previous attempts have explored the use of terrestrial laser scanners for several geometry inspections, these solutions are either not specifically designed for column alignment, lack practicality on-site, or require significant manual intervention. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposes a framework to streamline the column alignment inspection process. It is tested on synthetic and real datasets, demonstrating its feasibility and potential to improve the performance of geometric quality inspection in reinforced concrete construction.
