Abstract

The metalliferous sediments of the mid-ocean ridge system extending into the Red Sea are described. Mining geostatics was applied to estimate the mineral resources: horizontal variograms were computed and then modules were fitted to analyse the mineralization in each area. Kriging estimates of zinc, copper, silver are presented and gold and cobalt contents were calculated from the analysis of solids in flotation concentrates. (from paper)
