Abstract
In this paper, we consider a viscoelastic equation with a weak frictional damping in the presence of infinite-memory term and prove an explicit and general decay result using the multiplier method and some properties of the convex functions. Our result is obtained without imposing any restrictive growth assumption on the damping term and strongly weakening the usual assumptions on the relaxation function.
