Abstract

This paper investigates the application of the Total Synthesis (TS) methods to the design of controller dynamics for nonlinear systems. The TS method was introduced in 1979. The TS problem is formulated using the Volterra series in conjunction with the multidimensional Laplace transform. The method is illustrated by designing a control system for a gyro with a single degree of freedom.
