Abstract
In this article the published literature on potting resins and display cap materials useful to make LED (light emitting diode) devices has been reviewed. Acid-cured cycloaliphatic epoxies are currently the state-of-the-art potting resins. Super tough nylon and Arylon T are suitable cap materials. The effect of internal and external hostile environments on plastic housing for LED devices must be considered in order to arrive at suitable materials.
