Abstract
Adsorption is one of the most widely used technologies in several applications because it has many advantages, such as simple design, low price, easy maintenance, and high efficiency. The surface modification of nanomaterials can be achieved using pretreatment steps and further chemical or physical modifications to produce nanomaterials derivatives with improved chemical and mechanical properties. This review provides an analysis of the utilization of nanomaterials, their derivatives, and hybrid blends for water treatment using different approaches including adsorption, photocatalytic degradation, and membrane filtration. This chapter presents an overview of nanomaterials, and their applications in the field of environmental remediation, water treatment. In this chapter, the first section gives an overview of the nanomaterials. Nanomaterials are promising materials for water treatment and have potential applications in several treatment methods.
