Abstract
Reliability studies of interconnected composite power systems are of increasing interest. The reliability evaluation of such ever larger systems with compatible computing time requires new techniques. The methodology for reducing the network size by introducing Probabilistic Equivalents is presented in this paper. Application examples to the IEEE-Reliability Test System (IEEE-RTS) and its proposed equivalent system are conducted. The results, produced by many reliability assessments to the IEEE-RTS and its equivalents, make the proposed method very promising.
