Abstract

We calculate the dipolar interaction contribution to the nuclear spin relaxation time T1 in an anisotropic superconductor. It is argued that such a contribution plays a major role in some heavy fermion superconductors and gives rise to a strongly anisotropic relaxation rate due to the coupling between the order parameter and the applied magnetic field.
