Analysis of Integrated DC-DC Converter-Based Grid Connected Transformer-less Photovoltaic Inverter

Abstract

The transformer-less inverter topologies have recently gained importance because of their small size, low cost, and low weight. The main issues in these transformer-less inverter topologies are to reduce common-mode leakage current with the increase in the transformation efficiency. In this paper, different conventional transformer-less topologies are discussed namely H4, H5, and H6 topologies. Unipolar modulation of H5 topology gives the best results. MATLAB/Simulink modeling of all the three topologies has been carried out and the results are shown.
