Abstract

The object of this paper is to present the surface renewal modeling approach to convection heat transfer associated with transitional turbulent flow in circular tubes for fluids with low to moderate Prandtl numbers. Calculations are developed for temperature distribution and Nusselt number as well as distributions in turbulent Prandtl number within the wall region.
