Abstract

In this chapter, a nine-level multilevel topology based on the switched capacitor technique which is capable of boosting the output voltage to twice the input voltage is presented for distributed solar PV system. There is no need for an external balancing circuit as the topology has the characteristic of inherently balance the capacitors. There is lower voltage stress at the switches incorporated and which makes it more cost-effective. Also, in this chapter, the integration of two PV modules with the grid is done and the simulation results validating the boosting capability and the low total harmonic distortion at the output side are presented.
