Abstract

Different laser spectroscopic methods were used extensively to characterize different crude oils. In this regard, very often technology has been used at its state of the art forms and at high cost. The main two categories of experimental investigations in this domain are time resolved and frequency resolved spectroscopies. We have selected to use simple frequency resolved spectroscopies and use extensive simple experimentations combined with elaborate data processing and exploitation to develop powerful yet simple and non expensive techniques for unambiguous determination of specific spectroscopic signatures of different oils. We shall present the excitation and emission spectra that we obtained for different oils. We then present our synchronous spectra with selected wavelength offsets. We move afterwards to finding the components of every synchronpus spectrum. We then consider the evolution of the fluorescence spectra with the offset wavelengths. We end our investigations by presenting the contour mapping for our data.
