Abstract
This paper presents a computationally inexpensive adjoint sensitivity analysis (ASA) approach that is based on the inverse nonlinear Schrödinger equation (INLSE). The introduced algorithm significantly accelerates the parameter estimation of adaptive digital back propagation (ADPB), used for blindly mitigating the linear and nonlinear distortions of optical fiber communication systems and networks. The approach efficiency is illustrated here through a numerical example.
