Abstract
Complexes of cadmium(II)-selenocyanate with several alkyldiamine ligands have been synthesized and characterized by IR, 113Cd, 77Se, 15N and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The X-ray structure of the complex [Cd(SeCN)2-en] reveals two non-equivalent metal ion centers, both with a distorted octahedral geometry. The combined bridging modes of selenocyanate and ethylenediamine with the blocking mode of a chelating ethylenediamine generate a 2D metal-organic framework.
