Abstract
Alkaline-surfactant-polymer (ASP) formulations were tested to determine their ability to improve oil recovery in Saudi Arabian carbonate reservoirs. B1083 surfactant showed its ability to adapt to the conditions of the reservoir, although its adsorption level on carbonate rocks was significantly affected by a combination of NaHCO3 and Na2CO3. Core flooding tests also revealed additional oil recovery using ASP slugs.
