Advances in solar collectors and concentrators

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This chapter examines the most recent technological advancements that use solar energy for a variety of purposes. To transform sunlight into useful energy, solar collectors and concentrators are essential, and recent developments have greatly increased their performance and efficiency. This chapter explores the technological and design advancements that have made solar gathering and concentration techniques more efficient, bringing down prices and increasing energy production. This chapter's main themes include integrating tracking systems to maximize daytime sun exposure and using cutting-edge materials and coatings to improve solar radiation absorption and retention. We also explore new concentrator designs and optical arrangements that focus sunlight into smaller regions to produce greater temperatures and energy outputs. All things considered, this chapter offers a thorough review of the state-of-the-art technology propelling advancements in solar concentrators and collectors, providing insights into the future of solar energy use and its possible influence on sustainable energy solutions.
