Abstract
An implementation of an adaptive rate control system for FH/BFSK signaling over a jammed flat-flat fading channel is presented. An algorithm is developed for tracking the channel fade state, dynamically adjusting the transmitted data rate, and mitigating the effects of partial-band interference. Simulation studies indicate that improvements on the order of 2 to 3 dB can be obtained with the adaptive rate control system compared to a nonadaptive system operating over the same communication medium with identical power and bandwidth resources.
