Abstract

In this paper, a pattern reconfigurable array antenna with linear polarization is presented. It comprises three parts that include a driving element centered between two other parasitic elements. To achieve pattern reconfiguration, the approach of Yagi-Uda configuration is employed, where the positions of the reflector and director are to be interchanged using DC-controlled electronic switches. Five scanning angles at the same operating frequency of 3.65 GHz are obtained with an acceptable input impedance matching in all switching schemes.
