Abstract

This paper discusses the development of a smart card system. It consists of two parts: Card Management System (CMS) and Application Management System (AMS). The system includes also implementation of a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for data security. The CMS manages a complete life cycle of smart cards, like requesting a card, printing, and defining holder's status. In the application management system, several applications have been implemented including identification, e-wallet, and access control. Both card management system and card application systems share one centralize database. The developed systems have been successfully tested.
