Abstract
From the last few decades, the piezoelectric materials are playing a vital role in the field of aerospace engineering. One of the major factors to reduce an aircraft’s malfunctioning is its health monitoring. In doing so multiple types of sensors are required to be designed specifically for an aircraft. A large amount of energy source is required for operating all those sensor therefore harvesting techniques are made. This paper discusses the use of piezoelectric materials in health monitoring, aircraft’s sensors and energy harvesters. It gives an elaborated idea of how piezoelectric materials can be used in various stages at aerospace industries.
