Abstract
Laser beam welding is an indispensable and preferable method which is widely used in the automotive industry. It satisfies the requirements of low cost, short processing time, and high quality. Although laser welding finds applications in different industries, its application in the automotive industry requires further investigation. In this paper, the current status of laser beam welding applications in automotive industry is reviewed and recent developments are discussed. This review study reveals that LASER BEAM WELDING is an important process for automotive industry, therefore it will become a more prominent method in upcoming years.
