Abstract

This paper discusses the distribution of inflection points and singularities on a piecewise parametric rational cubic spline. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a convex data have been presented. High degree of smoothness is obtained with automatic estimation of two families of shape preserving parameters for local convexity.
