Abstract
The development of a novel current-mode biquad circuit is discussed. The circuit uses two single output, one multiple output Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA) and two grounded capacitors. The system has the capacity to realize lowpass, highpass, bandpass, notch, lowpass notch, highpass notch, and allpass responses from the same topology. The OTA based filters have higher frequency capability, greater linearity, wider dynamic range, structural simplicity electronic tenability, and monolithic integratability. The detailed circuitry with a routine analysis that yields a transfer function composed of several parameters is presented. The proposed circuit has an attractive feature of independent electronic tunability of the transfer function gain. The proposed circuit is simulated using PSPICE circuit simulation program. The modeling of OTAs is described in the article 'Current-mode higher-order OTA-C Filters', in the International Journal of Electronics.
