Abstract
A distribution identification method is developed in this paper. The method derives a sequence of characteristic standardized moment ratios(CSMR) for a class of common continuous distributions. The use of the method has been demonstrated via several examples of identifying hypothesized random variables. The method correctly identified the hypothesized distributions.
