Abstract
New and natural proof are proposed for both the arcsine law and a related result. Both results are of extreme practical importance. The arcsine law and its related result naturally emerge when studied against their most natural backdrop provided by a detailed multi-bit quantization, already carried out in a multi-dimensional (m-D) setting. We also show that amongst the whole class of 1-bit uniform quantizers treated in this paper, the only practically-useful member for which both the arcsine law and its related result hold is the mid-riser (i.e. with no dead zone) type of quantizer, upon which the well-known relay and polarity-coincidence correlators are based.
